ABW (Activity Based Working)

The SRC practices an activity-based working method which means that we have an office with a setup that allows us to choose from a variety of settings according to the nature of what we are doing. The workplace has been designed to support the different way we carry out our work; individual work spaces, meeting rooms, social areas, creative areas etc.

To the right you find a link to the map of the office with the different colors indicating the purpose of the room. Physical maps are also placed around in the office.

Guideance on how to book rooms in Outlook. If you have trouble, please contact IT support.

Here you find the rules and descriptions of room colors.

In March 2023 we dedicated a full speed talk to the ABW method and discussed things that have been improved and new suggestions for improvement. These have been followed up by the AGWEER team and Lisen gave a follow up speed talk in June 2023. If you have more questions or suggestions for improvements, please reach out to anyone in team AGWEER.

Annual Development Talks

During the month of May development talks are carried out at the SRC (please note that development talks for PhD students are held by the supervisor during September). The purpose of the talk is to have a more in depth conversation about the employee´s work tasks, the working environment, responsibilites and needs as well as the organization's aims.

The SRC guidelines for the Annual development talk (mainly aimed at researchers) are based on Stockholm University’s template for these reviews. They are designed to clarify how performance is evaluated in accordance with individual job tasks and overall centre vision and mission.

The annual development talks for PhD students are held between the supervisor and the PhD student and it's the responsibilty of the supervisor to conduct these talks. These are normally held during September/October. Here you find the PhD Staff Appraisal Guide for the SRC.

More information is sent by the closest manager/supervisor.

For the Stockholm University guidelines often used for non-research staff (T/A-staff), see Performance review.

SRC Sustainability Activities (since 2019)

In this document we have collected activities that have been carried out at SRC since 2019 with the goal to become more sustainable. These originated from strategic decisions, core activities as well as from the environmental action plans.

Regarding travel, see also more below on this page.

"Employees and students must carefully evaluate the need for every work- or study-related travel. To minimise the impact on the climate and environment travel must to the furthest possible extent be replaced with digital meetings. This also applies to travel that is elicited and funded by external parties. It is not permitted to fly to a meeting or an activity that lasts less than one workday if digital participation is an option."

For more details you can find the SU policy for meetings and travel here.

We also have an SRC food policy to guide us in making more sustainable choices in that regard. This and more information about the SRC's environmental work you can also find at the Environmental Corner.

If you have suggestions for improvements of our internal environmental work, please contact Cornelia Ludwig.

Suggestions for any part of the SU campus as well as any deviations and irregularities are reported here.
