Patricia is visiting us during May and June, she studies First Nations food access and will be working on scenarios while here...

Patricia Angkiriwang, a second-year Master’s student at the University of British Columbia’s Changing Ocean Research Unit in Vancouver, will be joining the Stockholm Resilience Centre in May and June. Her research focuses on the availability and access of traditional foods for coastal First Nations in British Columbia, Canada, through a collaboration with the Tla’amin First Nation. She is exploring tools to map and model the existing connections in the community between fish, food, and culture, as well as how these links might be affected by the implementation of potential strategies and policies under different socio-ecological scenarios. Along with her research, Patricia is interested in the intersections of art, science, and human-centered design, and enjoys going on long walks and exploring new places. She'll give a speed talk next week and would love to connect with many people at SRC during her stay. Please feel free to contact her directly: p.angkiriwang@oceans.ubc.ca
