SRC electronic forum for discussing interesting papers!

I've created a zoom channel where we can share and discuss interesting papers.
Hi all, In response to demand, I've created a Zoom channel where we can share and chat about interesting papers! I have chosen a zoom channel rather than an email list (a) so you can control your notifications and not get spammed every time somebody writes something, (b) because zoom supports threaded conversations that will keep discussions on different papers contained, and (c) because most of us have already had to install the Zoom app in the last 12 months or so! Instructions on connecting to the channel follow at the bottom of this email. Please use the 'reply' function when commenting on a previously posted paper to keep discussions on different papers separated. I've kicked off discussions with a post about the recent paper from Hillebrand et al. "Thresholds for ecological responses to global change do not emerge from empirical data". Please note this forum is not intended to replace other ways at SRC for sharing papers, for example in a speed talk, within your theme, or in other seminars. Involvement in the forum is entirely optional. Feedback also welcome. Let's see whether it gets used -- hopefully it will be a nice easy way to keep each other up to speed on recent literature! Best regards Steve -------------------------------- To connect to the channel: - Open your desktop Zoom app - Go to Chat - Click on the + sign next to 'Recent' and 'Join Channel' - Search for "SRC interesting paper discussions" Detailed description (of a slightly different method) here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/200912909-Creating-and-using-channels-group-messaging- You can change notification settings for the channel by clicking on the 'i' at the right of chat screen.
