The gist of our Monday meeting

1. Pernilla Malmer pernilla.malmer@su.se and Maria Tengö maria.tengo@su.se presented outcomes from the recent workshop on human rights and biodiversity loss, all work leading up to CBD COP15 in October in Kunming, China 2. We had another round of introductions to our excellent Masters students 3. Charlie Lavin (charles.lavin@su.se) presented his research on "genetic parentage analysis" within Marine Protected Areas 4. SRC Postdoc Angela Gonzalez (mostly based in Bristol, UK) introduced her research on governance and resource use within agricultural systems: local-global interactions between farming and trade. She works with Örjan Bodin orjan.bodin@su.se 5. Henrik Österblom (henrik.osterblom@su.se) presented a new report on ocean equity and how equity influences ocean economy. Per Olsson per.olsson@su.se introduced a new science initiative that will analyse, map and assess the many business and policy initiatives currently being launched on transformation: Anthropocene Mobilizations for transformations to biosphere stewardship 7. Beatrice Crona introduced the 2020 Olof Palme visiting professor, Jason J. Czarnezki, who focuses on social and environmental law. He is interested in connecting with SRC researchers working on eco-labelling, life-cycle assessments and green procurement.
