The gist of our Monday meeting
1. Ferdinanda Wijermans <nanda.wijermans@su.se> introduced the new AgentX 2 project she is doing with Maja Schlüter, Therese Lindahl and Caroline Schill. The project, a continuation from work starting already in 2012, will combine agent-based modelling and behavioural experiments to explain why, how and when resource users use, well, resources, sustainably. 2. Guest researcher Ro Hill (Ro.Hill@csiro.au) provided some reflections and updates on the shocking size and impact of the Australian bushfires. 3. Laura Elsler <laura.elsler@su.se> and Alice Dauriach <alice.dauriach@su.se> reported back from a full-day PhD workshop with Carl Folke on resilience thinking and research pathways. 4. Robert Blasiak <robert.blasiak@su.se> shared his experiences from publishing on The Conversation, an online science news portal with a global reach of more than 3 million unique readers worldwide. Stockholm University is a partner which provides all SRC researchers with an excellent opportunity to widen their research outreach. Albert Norström (albert.norstrom@su.se) gave an update on GRP's future funding status with Sida and the proposed action areas that the partnership will focus on. 6. Juan Rocha Gordo <juan.rocha@su.se> presented his latest paper on SES mapping and his new project on arctic marine resiilence. 7. Tim Daw <tim.daw@su.se> introduced Kerstin Bragby and the idea of designing an invisible theatre (google Augusto Boal) on climate change. A Formas application is in the pipeline, fingers crossed. 8. Miriam Huitric <miriam.huitric@su.se> presented the opportunity to engage in Stocholm University's efforts to work more closely with universities in Africa. Contact Miriam if you are interested. 9.
