The gist of our Monday meeting

1. Hanna Sinare is back! During her "out of office" since August 2018 Hanna's been guest researching at IDS @ University of Sussex and doing field work in Burkina Faso. Her focus has been on exploring perspectives on agriculture and sustainable food production among rural youth in Burkina Faso. Welcome back, hanna.sinare@su.se! 2. Meanwhile, we bid farewell to Ana Paula Aguiar anapaula.aguiar@su.se who will go back to a relatively uncertain future at INPE in Brazil. But she will continue to work with SRC and be back in August! 3. Masters student Liz Lacera lacerda.liz@gmail.com provided an update on the dam near Feijão iron ore mine which burst last year. Get in touch with Liz if you want to learn more about this tragedy. 4. Henrik Österblom (henrik.osterblom@su.se) presented what was supposed to be a big metro station exhibition during the COP25 in Chile but never materialised when indeed the COP was moved to Madrid. Henrik together with Calle Folke and others have been working on science text to accompany spectacular worksmade by artists from Uruguay. There is a hope the exhibition can be shown somewhere else. Stay tuned. 5. The first batch of presentations from our brilliant new SERSD students: the future looks good. More presentations will follow next week! 6.
