The gist of our Monday meeting
Per Olsson provided an intro/update from the Baltic Lead programme, a leadership programme aiming to build a new paradigm of entrepreneurship that encompasses both human and planetary opportunity. Jörgensen provided an update to the GEDB pillar on Global Health and Biosphere stewardship: http://www.gedb.se/global-health-and-biosphere-stewardship which looks at topics like childrens’ health, sustainable diets and the transformation of the global food system. And antimicrobial resistance, of course. Peter also introduced his new paper “Evolution in the Anthropocene” "Here, we review how evolutionary biology can inform governance and policies in the Anthropocene, focusing on five governance challenges that span biodiversity, environmental management, food and other biomass production, and human health." He introduced his work on indigenous social innovation institutions in Canada. Henrik Österblom kept us in the loop about his ongoing struggle to get his bright ideas accepted by peers.
