Bridging with the Society for Decision Making Under Deep Uncertainty

Ben Bryant (NatCap Stanford) and I are running a session connecting resilience approaches to “deep uncertainty” decision making methodologies at the annual DMDU conference, which is being held in Delft, Netherlands next month Nov 5-7: http://www.deepuncertainty.org/annual-meetings/2019-annual-meeting/ This is a nice interdisciplinary conference of medium size (100 – 150 people), with people from different disciplines working on different domains, but united by thinking carefully and humbly about the future – and generally a lot of sustainability and water people. It also often features some innovative participatory session structures, and has a low registration fee of 50 euros, and an optional “training day.” Besides Ben and my session, some others that may be of interest include: Incorporating Values In Modelling And Decision Analyses; Supporting Decision Making Under Deep Uncertainty With Participatory Approaches; Moving Towards Adaptive Governance for Sustainability under Conditions of Complexity and Deep Uncertainty Best, Jan
