New EAT CEO

A message from Gunhild Stordalen (president of EAT Foundation): "I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Alessandro Demaio as EAT's new chief executive officer. Currently a Medical Officer at the World Health Organization, Sandro will assume his role in April 2018. A supporter and advisor to EAT since its inception, Sandro encapsulates the essence of our organization: a visionary thinker who is led by science, a relationship-builder who dares to be disruptive. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, from his years at the WHO, to teaching public health and co-founding NCDFREE, a global social movement against noncommunicable diseases. I am confident that with his scientific knowledge, his deep understanding of our organization and his passion for our mission, he is well equipped to lead EAT on its journey to becoming the leading platform for global food systems transformation. I would also like to seize this opportunity to thank Clare Matterson for her contribution and leadership during her tenure as EAT's interim CEO. Over the past six months, Clare has strengthened the organization's structure and competencies, and led the development of the strategy and operational plan. Her dedication to our employees and the success of EAT has been exemplary, and we are delighted that she will return to serving on EAT's Board of Trustees.
