Do you have an old laptop lying around that’s unused and you’re not sure how to get rid of it without creating more e-waste?

A friend of mine and David Collste have an NGO called IT for children, where they collect old laptops to provide free IT education to children in rural Ghana. The NGO is having a collection drive next week on Tuesday Sept 3rd nearby Hötörget. If you can’t make it then but still want to donate your old laptop/USB stick/mice, you can also pass it to me at the SRC. See below for details. What: Donate old laptops, USB sticks, computer mice to kids in rural Ghana When: Tuesday Sept 3rd, 16:30-19:00 Where: Restaurant Hubertus, Holländargatan 9 (nearby Hötörget). Best, Niak ----------------------------- We at IT for Children provide free IT education every day for 1,700 children in rural Ghana. We use second-hand laptops in our classes because: (1) It reduces e-waste and is good for the environment. (2) It makes sense financially. It allows us to invest in education and create many valuable jobs in a region where unemployment and poverty is widespread. YOU CAN BECOME A PART OF THIS! Come to the restaurant Hubertus on September 3rd, with your old laptop. Our only demand is that the laptop starts when you press the power button. We also welcome USB-sticks and computer mice! --------------------------------- Link to the facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/524511711624476/ Link to the NGO site: https://itforchildren.org/#home
