BBL: 22 Jan@12:15, Kim Scherrer, Humans in Earth system models - example of capture fisheries

2019-01-15 17:10

BBL For people interested in Earth systems modelling and/or Socio-bio-economic models of fisheries production, climate and contributions to wellbeing

BBL: Kim Scherrer(ICTA,Barcelona) - Human dimensions in earth system models - specifically marine capture fisheries. When:22 Jan 12:15-13:00 Where:Lobby Kim is a PhD student at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA) in Barcelona, working in the Integrated Earth System Dynamics (IESD) laboratory. There, she develops new quantitative methods for including human activity as a directly-coupled component of Earth system models and investigates how large-scale ecological and anthropogenic drivers shape the development of the global marine wild-capture fishery. The seminar will introduce the IESD work, and hopefully stimulate discussions on how humans can be better represented in large-scale ecosystem models
