https://jobs.sciencecareers.org/job/485028/assistant-professor-in-urban-social-ecological-systems/ The Department of Environmental Sciences (ENVS) at Emory University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Urban Social-Ecological Systems. We seek candidates whose work focuses on urban issues with an environmental context. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work is inter- or multi-disciplinary, especially those with training in the social sciences, broadly defined. Application from candidates whose work has strong quantitative, mixed methods, and/or spatial analysis elements are particularly welcomed. Topical areas of interest are broad and include, but are not limited to, urban planning and public policy, sustainability/sustainable development, collaborative governance, climate change, and environmental justice, among many others. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a widely-recognized research program that attracts external funding and contributes to the interdisciplinary mission of the department and the university; teach and mentor at both the graduate and undergraduate levels; and contribute to the department, university, and relevant professional societies and community through service, collaboration and engagement. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in environmental studies/sciences, geography, political science, sociology, anthropology, economics, urban planning, public policy, ecology, data science, engineering, or related fields. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work combine disciplines in novel ways. Candidates must have an excellent research record, evidence of teaching potential in a multidisciplinary setting, and a demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity."
