Workshop: Methods for Navigating Conflicts in Social-Ecological Systems Research
The Conflict and Collaboration theme would like to invite you to join a full day workshop on Methods for Navigating Conflicts in Social-Ecological Systems Research on October 22nd. The idea is to bring together researchers working with different methods that help people engage across differences in social-ecological systems. We are particularly interested in methods that create "spaces-in-between", meaning spaces where actors with different, and sometimes conflicting, perspectives, values, interests, or knowledge systems can interact, learn from one another, and work through tensions. The workshop will aim to showcase and reflect on methods used in SES research to create these "spaces-in-between”, asking how each method or methodological approach facilitates collaboration across differences and/or how it engages with conflicts. We are currently collecting examples of approaches such as dialogic methods, citizen assemblies, co-production workshops, participatory scenario planning, systems mapping, art-based methods, and others. We welcome you to: Sign up to participate by October 12th here: https://su.drive.sunet.se/s/YZBgEPFKLFMsFKd?dir=/&editing=false&openfile=true Send me an email (blanca.gonzalez@su.se) to contribute (e.g., with a presentation) if you work with a method that you think is relevant to the workshop. If you'd like to contribute, please let us know which method(s) you work with and any relevant projects, cases, or experiences you would be interested in sharing. If you are interested in contributing but are unable to attend on the workshop date, we would still very much like to hear from you, so please get in touch. Best, Blanca, on behalf of the Conflict and Collaboration Theme
